SKIN AND HAIR CONDITIONS
Detox. Feed. Restore.
Back when I did different markets in the Boston area, one of my highlights were the various conversations with customers. I shared what I had learned from my own experience with skin and hair issues, and together we tried different products to solve a variety of skin problems.
Between the users of my products and my own issues, we seemed to have solved most major skin issues out there - Rosacea, Psoriasis, Acne, Eczema and Alopecia. If you are suffering from any of these conditions, and want to try a totally natural solution, below are my recommendations.
As a skincare company, we are not allowed to make medical recommendations, so always consult a doctor. The below are some shared experiences, you can decide if they resonate with you.
Select your specific concern below to discover nature-driven recommendations and routines tailored just for you.
Acne

I wrote a blog about Acne here, check it out.
The products I recommend are:
- Detox Mask is excellent for cleaning out your pores
- Elixir Face Serum is also excellent to moisturize your face
- Marine Lavender Vitamin C Face Wash is great for exfoliation to help with left over scarring
Use these on a regular basis to keep your face acne free. Over the years, many mothers have bought the Detox Mask for the teens and young adults. Grown-ups can also get acne and we have plenty of those. I have had many clients who have had severe acne for years and it seemed hopeless. So many have visited me months later and to show me their beautiful break out free, healthy faces! It is important to hydrate your skin with clean products because overly dry skin can push out extra sebum which can clog your pores.
What Not To Do - use Coconut Oil on your face. People have differing opinions on this, but my experience is I will get a breakout. Pores on your face a smaller, and Coconut Oil molecules are bigger than other oils, so they tend to block pores. While our Body Butter is sublime on your body, it is not for the face. If you wear make up, it is essential to clean your face thoroughly and choose make up that won't clog your pores. Check out our skincare based make up here.
Anti-Aging

Anti-Aging aka healthy, beautiful, natural skin have many factors.
Hydration - Need to keep our skin hydrated - Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall. Many only think of applying lotion when their skin feels dry in the Winter. If you do just this little bit every day, you will notice a difference in your skin quickly.
The Elixir Face Serum is hands down the best product for that. Many clients compare it to oils that are about 6 times the price. Considering I have not advertised in about 4 years, the Elixir is a perineal and the most popular product. Once you use it, you know. And at 56 years young, it is still my go to product. The Vitamins, the nourishing anti-inflammatory oils all work together to restore, feed and calm the skin.
Exfoliation - Need to get rid of old skin so new can come in. For that, we have several options:
Detox Mask - A super gentle mask that detoxes your skin, it also tightens the skin. Use 2-3 times a week for long lasting, visible difference.
Marine Lavender - The next level up - this is a Vitamin C mask/wash. Your skin LOVES Vit C. And you will see the difference. You can use it 2-3 times a week or use a little bit when washing your face at night. It exfoliates your skin while feeding it. The Marine muds and kelp also provide needed iodine and minerals which help with under eye dark circles. This is also a skin brightener. A few years ago, I was travelling and didn't have all my products with me but I did have a little bit of the Marine Lavender that I was just experimenting with at that time. So, I started using it at night, just to wash my face. It was a very polluted environment. I was also experiencing extreme stress. I was surprised when I started receiving all kinds of complements on my skin and then remembered my nightly ritual.
All Masks need to be followed up with the Elixir. You just exfoliated; you need to give your skin the lovely Vitamins and nutrients to grow new skin. And don't forget your sunscreen.
For the Body
Salt Scrubs - A physical exfoliator with salt that makes a visible difference. The oils nourish the skin and helps it rejuvenate. Notice the bumpy, crepey skin on your legs? Try this Salt scrub on your whole body to see and feel the difference. This is for the body only, the skin on your face is delicate so do not use on your face.
Here's a story about my own experience with the Salt Scrub: I inherited alligator skin on my legs form my Dad - very dry and my feet would definitely need a pedicure on a very regular basis. One time I went to my normal place for a pedicure, I had an event. To my surprise, she asked me, your feet don't need anything, do you just want some nail polish? I almost feel right off the massage chair! Then I realized, I had been using the salt scrub and in using it on my body, I also used it on my feet!
Body Butters - Our luxurious body butters are so amazing! Just read some of the comments on how it has helped severely dry skin that was to the point of being painful. It hydrates and visibly hydrates the skin. A little goes a long way with this butter. It also helped with my Eczema, so check out that section.
Eczema

I didn't know what Eczema was until I got it. Technically, moderate to severe eczema is a chronic, systemic disease thought to be linked to an overactive immune system and persistent inflammation. For some, eczema’s itch and rash can flare up unexpectedly—and, at times, can feel really intense. On darker skin, your skin can get black patches.
My story - I had an event to attend in a big stadium and I had to travel in a couple of weeks time. I started noticing flaky skin around my mouth and did not recognize it. I knew I already had immune issues with Urticaria, but this was different. It looed bad and it started making deep lines around my lips. I had put a lot of work into getting ready for the event and I could not show up looking for that. With 2 weeks remaining, I went to the doctor and got some medication. It did nothing. Then I went back to the doctor, do I need something stronger? My event is coming up and I can't sell skincare looking like this! Tried that new medication, there was slight improvement but not much. About 3 days to go to my event and I thought, my body butter is supposed to help with Eczema, let's try it. It was a Hail Mary pass at this point. I applied it about 3 times that day and lo and behold, the next day it was down by abut 70%. I continued with 3x/day and then next day it was 90% less. I still have some scaring from it and it does come back sometimes, but not like that. I use the butters and it goes away.
Since then, several clients have tried the Body Butters on their Eczema and had similar resutls.
Rosacea

When I was doing markets around Boston, there were so many, many times I would see the effect the Elixir Face Serum had on clients with Rosacea. It was almost instantaneous. There were so many similar incidents, but I remember this one lady in particular.
It was towards the end of the day and it got quieter and we were just getting ready to pack up. Then this beautifully coiffed, older lady strolls in. We talk a little and she tells me about her Rosacea and how she has had it for so long without any relief and now she just accepts it and lives with it. I normally don't ask clients to put anything on their faces at a market, but this time I said, "I have a mirror here if you would like to trying my Elixir Face Serum because it has helped others." She thought I mentioned the mirror just to help her apply the Serum. But I wanted her to see the difference for herself. She was highly skeptical, she had tried many different products, why would this thing at a Farmers Market work? But she braved it and just to prove me wrong, she applied a drop or two of the Face Serum on one cheek. I think that is why I remember this lady after all these years - it was her reaction to when she saw her skin become less red within seconds.
If you struggle with Rosacea, the Elixir Face Serum was made with you in mind. It’s a gentle, deeply nourishing blend that helps calm redness and bring relief to sensitive, easily irritated skin. Vitamin E works to soothe and strengthen your skin barrier, while almond oil delivers softening moisture without clogging pores. Flaxseed oil is packed with omega-3s that help reduce inflammation—perfect for calming flare-ups—while castor oil helps lock in hydration and protect your skin throughout the day. Every ingredient was chosen for its ability to comfort and restore balance to reactive skin. Clients with Rosacea often tell us their skin feels calmer, softer, and more at ease after just a few uses.
Psoriasis

I didn't know this until clients started reporting to me how the Salt Scrubs helped their Psoriasis. One of the the more dramatic instances was when I was at a Winter Market. A lady came up to me and we talked about about different skin issues. I had just launched my hair line at that time and she asked if my Scalp Serum would help with the Psoriasis on her scalp. She was wearing a wig and she told me the story of how she had struggled with Psoriasis on her scalp for years and how painful it was and she had lost hair because it. I had never heard of Psoriasis on the scalp but based on other customer stories, I recommended the Salt Scrubs for her to apply on her head. A few weeks later, another woman stops by for the same thing. Then another woman stops by and told me she was a hair dresser and had been cutting the first lady's hair for a long time and had seen first hand how quickly her client's Psoriasis disappeared. She was stunned and had to get some of the salt scrub herself!
For those living with Psoriasis, our salt scrubs offer gentle, natural relief that goes beyond exfoliation. The blend of Himalayan and kosher salts helps slough off dry, flaky skin without irritation, allowing newer, healthier skin to surface. These mineral-rich salts also draw out toxins and reduce buildup that can trigger flare-ups. What makes this scrub especially soothing for Psoriasis-prone skin is the nourishing base of olive oil and rice bran oil—both deeply moisturizing and packed with antioxidants. Olive oil helps soften and calm inflamed patches, while rice bran oil delivers essential fatty acids and Vitamin E to support skin repair and reduce itchiness. Together, this blend helps restore smoothness, reduce discomfort, and give your skin a much-needed dose of comfort and care—naturally.
Alopecia

From personal experience, hair loss feels really bad. My story is that it was only when I went for a haircut that the hairdresser discovered alopecia on top of my head. I had been busy and had been doing a ponytail for months and never noticed it. It freaked me out; without a ponytail, it was so obvious. So, I did what I usually do - I started researching natural remedies. My grandmother was also sitting on my shoulders whispering from heaven.
First, I looked at products I was using and all other factors that might be affecting me, which I call the "environment." There are so many factors involved in hair care especially in modern times. We use so many products in our hair these days - shampoos, conditioner, styling products, heat. Recently, I used a well-known styling mouse and after just one use, it made my hair so dry and rough, I am still fighting it after two weeks. Stress is a major factor in hair loss and greying, which Harvard has studied. Changing hormones, whether pregnancy or menopause is another factor. I've found that there may also be seasonal shedding; have you noticed it?
Back to my story with alopecia, I knew I needed to start with oil. My grandmother always told me that hair was like a plant, it needed nourishment to grow. Growing up in India, I also knew we consumed different fruits and herbs to maintain hair. And my love of essential oils is well known for therapeutic purposes. So, I threw everything I could into making this oil. Castor Oil, Pumpkin Seed Oil, Amla, Fenugreek Seed, Hibiscus are all proven hair support ingredients, along with essential oils to stimulate the hair follicles.
The pictures here document my own journey. I took pictures every week to see what was happening on top of my head. The way I treated the bald spot on top of my head was to apply the serum a minimum of 2 times a day. Do it in the morning after your shower and mid-day if you can so it doesn't just rub off on your pillow. You just need a drop or two and massage it into the spot with your finger. It should not affect the rest of your hair. Be patient, this is a natural process but for me, I was able to see new growth (follicles coming up) in about 6 weeks.
For general hair loss here are some learnings from my own experiences. The Hair Rescue Serum applied to the entire scalp will help with this. Apply to your scalp once or twice a week and you should see less hair fall. Part your scalp in sections/strips - like when we color hair - about 1" apart and apply the serum to the scalp and rub it in. If you can, leave it in overnight (I put a towel on my pillow) and wash your hair the next day.
